West Virginia: State Opens Wildlife Conservation Land to Hydraulic Fracturing

Upstream Conventional & Unconventional Onshore Development


State officials recently accepted bids to hydraulic fracture under the Conaway Run Wildlife Management Area. On November 19, the Department of Commerce closed bidding on the 518-acre conservation tract. The state is still currently accepting bids on 11 miles under the Ohio River in northern West Virginia. The state is considering opening future bids on land under Fish Creek in Marshall County, the Jug Wildlife Management Area in Tyler County, 24 acres in Doddridge County and an additional seven miles under the Ohio River.
