PESA’s Executive Leadership, Engaging Leadership Permian participants reconvened this week for back-to-back sessions of their leadership program. The second year of the West Texas group kicked off virtually in April with an overview of how the program would help strengthen their leadership skills and refine various leadership strategies.
Since April, Permian participants have been engaged in networking sessions with PESA’s Emerging Executives Committee. The virtual format has allowed Permian participants to engage more with the other ELP cohorts for the first time in the program’s history. The format, forced by the pandemic, has also allowed Permian participants to attend PESA webinars and townhalls to meet a portion of their graduation requirements.
The two-day intensive was led by trainers from Envision. They engaged participants in discussions, Q&A sessions, and small group conversations that allowed deeper exploration of leadership topics.
"I like learning how to better delegate responsibilities and create trust and a good working environment for my reports. It helps take the load off myself in the day-to-day operations," said one participant.
“I really want to nail down and round out my skill set in providing clear expectations,” said another participant. “I expect people to perform and think like I do. I need a better vehicle for providing those expectations so my team understands what I want accomplished while knowing they have my full support.”
The Permian group is due to join their Executive Leadership Program counterparts from the three other sessions at the Quarterly Networking event on November 5.
